VIRGINIA PROBATION AND PAROLE ASSOCIATION Presents

Our 2011 Annual Business Meeting and Training Event
May 19 and May 20, 2011

Take this Job and Love It
HOLIDAY INN AND SUITES
Front Royal, Virginia

The Virginia Probation and Parole Officer’s annual training event is fast approaching.

There will be a charity golf tournament to benefit Cell Phones for Soldiers and VA Public Safety Memorial on the afternoon of May 19, 2011 at the Blue Ridge Shadows Golf Club. If you would like to play, please fill out the attached form and return it to Stephanie MacDonald.

Also, if anyone is interested, there are hiking and canoeing ventures for the afternoon of Thursday, May 19, 2011 that can be arranged, depending on the amount of interest, if you do not wish to participate in the golf tournament. If you would like more information on that, please indicate same on the registration form.

The evening of May 19, 2011 will be the Annual Awards Dinner at the Holiday Inn & Suites.  Please indicate on the attached registration form if you would like Chicken, Beef or a Vegetarian Plate.

Please scan/e-mail the completed registration form by April 15, 2011 to
Stephanie.MacDonald@vadoc.virginia.gov or fax it to 540-347-6436.

On May 20, 2011 the brief Annual Business Meeting will occur, followed by the Training Event, “Take This Job and Love It”.   Registration check-in is from 8:00AM -9:00AM on Friday, May 20, 2011.   Sam Bartlett will be the trainer. He is a noted authority in the areas of team building, communication, customer service, leadership, employee engagement, and managing conflict while implementing change. The training will end at approximately 3:00 pm.   Five hours of academy approved training credit will be provided.

Director Clarke has approved the following:

*  Participants attendance on state work time
*  Use of state vehicles
*  Registration fee of $25.00
*  Lodging expenses for participants who commute outside a 50 mile radius of their district office or home to the event (whichever is closest)

The Director would like to make it clear to all attendees that if they attend the charity golf tournament, hiking or canoeing, events which are scheduled for the afternoon of May 19, 2011 attendees must use their personal time, not state work time.

Make sure you submit your Travel Request.
